Judging Panel

 David Dooley Regional Manager at Alliance Medical Ltd David is currently a member of the senior management team with Alliance Medical Ireland, and has responsibility for six of Alliance Medical’s clinical sites located from Galway to Dublin. He is a Diagnostic Radiographer with over 15 years clinical experience. In the years from graduation to joining Alliance David has worked in various posts in the UK transitioning from Radiographer to Clinical Specialist Radiographer, and has experience of general Radiography,  MRI, CT & Neuro angiographic and interventional procedures. Before returning to Ireland David completed his MSc in Medical Magnetic Imaging in London.

Jean Kelly

Chief Director of Nursing and Midwifery, Saolta University Health Care Group

Jean is a native of Dublin, she commenced her Nurse training with the Medical Missionaries in Our Lady of Lourdes in Drogheda. Having completed her Midwifery training in the Coombe Hospital, she worked in Dublin as a Staff Nurse for a year before travelling to work in France. Following several years working in ICU she worked in the Meath Hospital in various senior positions.


Professor Declan Devane, Director, Health Research Board – Trial Methodology Research Network (HRB-TMRN)

Declan is Director of the Health Research Board-Trial Methodology Research Network, an Associate Editor with the Cochrane Pregnancy and Childbirth Group, an Associate Senior Lecturer with the UK Cochrane Centre and an author of numerous Cochrane systematic reviews predominantly in the field of fetal assessment. He has led a number of clinical trials recruiting from 100 to over 3000 participants and serves on a number of Trial Seering Committees and Data Monitoring Boards. He is a past member of the National Clinical Effectiveness Committee and the Midwives Committee of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Currently, he is a member of the DOH National Maternity Care Strategy Group and HIQA’s Maternity Standards Advisory Group.


 

Neil Johnson Chief Executive Croi West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation

Over 27 years leadership, management and development experience in the ‘not for profit’ sector, twenty two of which are in the field of cardiovascular health – across service development (both hospital & community); innovation in prevention and rehabilitation; education & training; research; patient engagement and patient advocacy. 

An experienced fundraiser, project/events manager and public relations practitioner. A strong advocate of social enterprise – applying a commercial model in the not for profit sector for social gain.

Has led, driven and managed the transformational impact Croí has had in cardiovascular healthcare. Has successfully planned, managed and delivered a multi million euro fundraising agenda which has included several significant capital campaigns; pioneered innovation in cardiovascular healthcare service provision, particularly in preventive cardiology and established Ireland’s first Centre for Cardiovascular Health & Wellbeing and the National Institute for Preventive Cardiology


Ms. Mary Frances O’Reilly Director NMPD West Midwest

Mary Frances is Director of Nursing and Midwifery Planning and Development (NMPD) in the HSE West Mid-West and leads a team who provide leadership, support excellence and build capacity for nurses, midwives and healthcare support staff to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient care and service delivery. Prior to joining the NMPDU as Workforce Planner in 2001, Mary Frances held the position of Assistant Director of Nursing in University Hospital Galway for 6 years. She also worked as Clinical Nurse Manager in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin prior to relocating to the West of Ireland.


 

Argon Hasani, Senior Medical Advisor, Novartis

Agron Hasani has been working with Novartis since 2007 in various functions. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical School of the University of Rijeka, Croatia after which he completed his internship there.
